How many jokes have you heard about calories? You know the ones where they don’t count if you’re standing up or upside down or if it’s your birthday yada yada yada. Those are just some of the funny ones but there are also some pretty serious ones. These conversations can do a lot of damage. The fact of the matter is that getting hung up on strict calorie counting or strict restriction can actually contribute to seriously disordered eating patterns. And this can also contribute to seriously disordered exercise patterns. This conversation is no laughing matter and it’s something that needs to be looked at carefully. Please take a listen to this, especially with respect to going into the holidays.
